faucets and cufflinks

whilst fossicking through an some vintage slide cases i bought recently at an auction, i found a treasure trove of old mechanical bits and pieces. one case held door latches, one held door hinges, and the third was full of hot and cold faucet tops.

i started sorting them (there were hundreds of them, all different types), and once they were all out in little piles, they spoke to me.

so now i need to learn how to solder - thanks in advance dad...

this morning i set my alarm to get up early to go to the post office to deliver a package from the shop, but (and i knew this would happen), i'm so bad at getting out of bed that the package is now sitting beside me on the train once again....lucky there's so many post offices in the city.

but i did eat my first banana this morning in probably more than 6 months, since the floods in queensland destroyed the banana crops. but they're coming back! a wee bit smaller, but still australian goodness in it's own little package nonetheless.
