a weekend in pictures

friday evening we took a walk up into the hills just outside of town - gorgeous light at that time of night, wallabies hopping around, and not too freezing!

for some reason on saturday morning, i got up early (i hate mornings) and dropped the better half off in woodend to go cycling, and then continued up the road to kyneton to have a look at a couple of garage sales. turned out one was a guy i see at auctions quite a bit, clearing out his shed - so i picked up these lovely things

i went home to clean and photograph some stock, then headed up the road again - this time to the Kilmore gaol auction house, to see what was on offer for the sunday auction. a quick stop at the romsey op shop (gorgeous door above) got me a 1970s sydney atlas to make some more Herbert Co prints

the gaol auction house is beautiful, old stones and trees and statues. some great ammunition boxes, cameras, wind up clocks, bottles, leather bags, old leather chairs (looking for a beat up one for ryan's office) and a few other bits and pieces of interest

i put in an absentee bid, the first time i've done so. turns out i was successful on the 8 ammunition crates (that included a bunch of ceramic insulators and some random tools), the box of bottles, and the gladstone bag...

today saw some garden time, putting the potato crates in position to make veggie gardens and cleaning up the yard. then a trip into melbourne to watch friends race some muddy cyclocross...

brilliant!
